Sometimes there are days when it feels like the darkness is winning.
Sometimes it's when there are a lot of big and terrible things going on all around.
Today it was the multitude of small things.
So many small hurtful and dark things on this, the first day of Advent.
But I am reminded that the Light has come to drive out darkness.
I will look for the tiny flames of light that flicker in the darkness as it has passed from person to person as Advent gains momentum. Until the day of His arrival, the coming of The King of Light.
"Because of God's tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death.,and to guide us to the path of peace." Luke 1:78-79
In as much as an EF4 tornado is a big, very bad thing, I and so many others have found so much complete joy and blessings from it that we can do no other thing but praise God. I spoke with two more affected families today who were so completely and joyfully blessed. They have no homes any longer, but through this disaster they have remained faithful to Christ. We have been praying for a true revival in our town and those of us who are paying attention to the small, even minute details, are seeing some pretty remarkable things happening now... I will pray for your joy to be complete this Christmas season. :-)
